- Purple Light Touch Foundation: Established in 2015 as a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization, the Foundation provides healing touch, prayer, and mentorship to women and girls who have experienced trauma. Its mission is to "Empower, Uplift, and Transform" the lives of individuals facing challenges such as abuse, assault, emotional distress, cancer, and other life-altering events. The Foundation offers a safe space for women to heal and rebuild. Valerie’s personal journey of overcoming bullying and abuse led her to discover the healing power of massage therapy, inspiring her to become a licensed massage therapist and share this gift with others.

No one can take your joy unless you give them the power to do so. Only you have control over your joy, and when you allow someone else to control it, you're giving away something precious. The only one who should have that influence in your life is Jesus. He gives you joy, strength, and freedom. Don’t let anyone else take that from you. Each day is a fresh start, a chance to make up your own bed. Just like you can change your sheets, you can change the path you're on. If you're with someone who doesn’t see your worth or who hasn’t been taught how to love, you can help them learn, but never at the cost of losing yourself. Sometimes people don’t know how to love because they’ve never been shown. If you want someone to love and respect you, you have to teach them through your actions and your boundaries. If a man has never learned what love and respect look like, he may not be able to show it. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t care; it means he’s on his own journey to learn. It’s like learning to drive a car, you wouldn’t jump into the driver’s seat without being taught. In the same way, we must guide, teach, and show others how to treat us. Love and respect are learned, cultivated, and nurtured. Stand firm in your worth, knowing you are beautiful inside and out, and deserving of true love and respect. Seek strength in God and don’t settle for anything less than what aligns with His vision for you.

At Purple Light Touch Foundation, the need is growing. Every day, more women and young girls come to us for help as they face trauma, domestic violence, cancer, and mental health struggles. About Purple Light Touch Foundation
Purple Light Touch services are free to women and girls recovering from all forms of abuse, mental anguish and cancer. We offer computer classes, craft and design classes, mentoring, prayer, empowerment meetings and therapeutic massage. The concept of therapeutic massage for abuse recovery was created and organized by Founder, President, and CEO, Valerie Kelso. Her vision was inspired while working as a massage therapists. Her main reason for developing the idea was the direct result of dealing with a variety of clients from all walks of life, many who expressed a need to vent and talk about very personal issues regarding their mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being while lying on her table. So many women had come in with burdens often times too heavy to carry on their own. It became apparent that something had to be done.
Valerie found that massage was beneficial for her healing after years of physical and mental abuse, and wanted to share this benefit with others for free. Women and young girls need a safe place where they can relax, express their emotions, pray and be with like minded women to begin a healing process which is provided through the Purple Light Touch Foundation.
